Planting a tree can cost as little as 15 pence and we send at least 90p of every pound we receive overseas to be spent where needed most in Zambia, Malawi or Zimbabwe. Some examples of what your money could do…

• £5 – 5 indigenous saplings to reforest cleared land – insects & animals move back in quite quickly.
• £20 – 4 breeding chickens or guinea fowls
• £50 – Wage for local resident to spend one month clearing invasive alien plant (lantana) from the Victoria Falls rainforest – a World Heritage site.
• £70 – Tools (spades, forks, fencing tools) for setting up a nutrition garden
• £860 – A manual press for extracting jatropha tree fruit oil for cooking, lanterns or making soap – this directly reduces deforestation
• £1,600 – Establishing a community nutrition vegetable and herb garden.

You can also use our “Buyat” site to donate to Tree Africa when purchasing goods on-line. Simply go to Buyat/Tree Africa and then click through to the retailer’s site.

You pay exactly the same price as on the retailers’ main sites which is often lower than on the high street. The commission earned by Tree Africa comes out of the retailers’ profit margin – it is their marketing spend.
